Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced senior executive to lead and develop our iron ore trading business. The role will be responsible for driving business growth, overseeing global trading operations, and managing commercial relationships across the iron ore supply chain.

The successful candidate will oversee strategic trading activities, manage operational processes, and ensure sustainable profitability while maintaining strong risk management and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy and Development

Develop and execute medium- and long-term strategies for the iron ore trading business, including market expansion, commercial partnerships, and trading opportunities across international markets.

Trading Operations Oversight

Oversee the full trading lifecycle including procurement, sales, logistics coordination, and financing arrangements to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

Profit and Loss Management

Manage the overall financial performance of the iron ore trading division, monitor trading results, and ensure that business targets and profitability objectives are achieved.

Market Analysis

Monitor global market developments including supply and demand conditions, steel production trends, port inventories, and freight market dynamics to support trading decisions.

Client and Partner Relationships

Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with suppliers, customers, financial institutions, and logistics partners to support long-term business growth.

Risk Management

Ensure appropriate management of market risk, credit risk, and operational risk across trading activities while maintaining compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations.

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of traders, analysts, and operations professionals to support the company’s trading activities and long-term development.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline

Significant experience in commodities trading, preferably within bulk commodities or iron ore markets

Strong understanding of international trade, logistics, and commodity markets

Demonstrated leadership experience managing commercial teams

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced international trading environment

Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin to support business communications with Chinese-speaking clients and partners.
