Purchasing Manager - Choa Chu Kang

We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Purchasing Manager to join our frozen food company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring products at competitive prices, building strong supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient import & export processes, including customs clearance and shipment coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and liaise with suppliers to obtain high-quality products at lower and reasonable purchase prices.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to maximize cost savings.
• Manage purchasing activities for all frozen food product categories.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the import & export process to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Handle documentation and compliance for customs clearance in accordance with local and international regulations.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs officers to resolve any clearance issues.
• Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and supply availability.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier databases.
• Work closely with warehouse and inventory teams to manage stock levels effectively.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar role, preferably in the frozen food industry.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost reductions.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with import/export procedures and customs clearance.
• Familiarity with international shipping terms (Incoterms).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.

Education & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, preferably in the food supply industry.
