We are supporting a public sector organisation undergoing a large-scale digital transformation in hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver enterprise data platforms supporting analytics, policy decision-making, and AI capabilities.

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and platforms (batch and real-time)
• Develop data models (OLTP, OLAP, dimensional) and manage ETL/ELT processes
• Deliver analytics datasets, dashboards, and data products to enable insights
• Implement data integration solutions (APIs, streaming, CDC) and DataOps practices
• Support machine learning / LLM use cases and apply MLOps where relevant
• Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance standards are met
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
• 5+ years' experience in data engineering within enterprise environments
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java
• Experience with big data tools (e.g. Spark, Kafka) and ETL/ELT frameworks
• Familiarity with DataOps / CI-CD practices

• Exposure to machine learning, LLMs, or AI applications
• Understanding of MLOps and responsible AI principles

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in complex environments
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrates ownership and commitment to delivery
