Main Purpose
The Richemont SEA legal function supports all legal, regulatory compliance and corporate affairs matters of all the Maisons that are active in the SEA markets.
Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel – Asia Pacific, the Senior Legal Counsel provides legal and strategic support on matters arising within Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
KEY RESULT AREAS AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contract management
- Negotiate, draft and review business and legal contracts and documents e.g. leasing, marketing/PR/event, finance, HR-related, etc.
- Template management
- Legal and regulatory compliance advice on business and operational matters, e.g. customer service, employment, health & safety, trade compliance, etc.
- Policies, procedures and training
- Support the APAC Legal Team in developing, implementing and training on policies and procedures on relevant legal and compliance topics.
- General legal support
- External counsel management
- Research and legal updates monitoring
- Coordination of Regional / Group Legal projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum LLB / equivalent degree from a reputable university
- Qualified lawyer with at least 8 years PQE
- Commercial / corporate lawyer with prior in-house experience
- Strong experience with local practices and laws in APAC
- Strong oral and written English skills are mandatory due to the requirement to communicate across multiple markets with the common language
- Candidates with experience in real estate / employment law / retail / FMCG preferred
- Strong commercial acumen, comfortable with risks, creative and solutions-orientated
- Strong team player and a strategic thinker
- Excellent organizational, analytical planning and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, and still balance multiple priorities and contribute thoughtful and high-quality work
- Independent, disciplined, self-motivated with high degree of integrity and work ethic
- Occasional travel required
