Managing Director, Dentsu Sports

Role Purpose
The Managing Director will lead the agency’s strategic direction, business growth, and operational excellence within the sports marketing sector. This role is responsible for driving revenue, building strong client relationships, and positioning the agency as a leader in sports marketing and sponsorship solutions.
As a member of the Dentsu Sports International (DSI) Global Commercial Team, responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with existing Japanese clients of DS Asia and DS Vietnam, as well as acquiring new clients across the APAC region.
Serve as Head of APAC collaboration for DGI S+E, leading the development of new client business opportunities in coordination with IM.
Drive the development of new projects in the APAC region in collaboration with Strategic Business Units (SBUs).
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the agency’s vision and growth strategy in sports marketing.
- Identify new business opportunities in sponsorship, partnerships, and brand activations.
- Business Development:
- Drive client acquisition and retention across sports properties, rights holders, and brands.
- Negotiate high-value sponsorship and media rights deals.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Implement best practices for campaign execution and client servicing.
- Financial Management:
- Set and achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Industry Engagement:
- Represent the agency at major sports events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Stay ahead of trends in sports marketing, digital engagement, and fan experience.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor senior managers and cross-functional teams.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and performance.
- 10+ years in sports marketing, sponsorship, or media rights management.
- Proven track record in business development and strategic leadership.
- Strong network within sports federations, leagues, and brands.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
