[ref. t17652424] Geylang - Research Engineer – Optical forces on metasurfaces (SRTT-Q.InC)
Agency for Science, Technology and Research Geylang Full-time
We are developing a new class of optomechanical which uses meta surfaces for optical control of mechanical motion. These systems would be powerful tools for sensing, fundamental physics, and quantum technologies. We are seeking a research engineer to help build the experimental system. This role involves hands on lab work such as:
- Set up and align optical systems.
- Assemble and maintain vacuum systems.
- Assist with electronics work and data acquisition.
- Run and maintain experiments to characterise mechanical motion and optical interactions.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Physics, Optics, Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience in any of the following is a plus (but not mandatory); Optics & lasers, Vacuum systems and/or Electronics.
- Programming (such as python, Mathematica, or MATLAB).
- We will provide training and supervision, so candidates do not need to have prior experience.
About us:
The Quantum Sensing and Metrology pillar works at the interface of optics, quantum sensing, and fundamental physics. We are based at the Quantum Innovation Centre (Q.InC), A*STAR, and collaborate closely with researchers across Singapore and internationally.
