Senior System Administrator (Linux / Unix / Cloud)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator with strong expertise in Linux/Unix administration, clustering technologies, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure. The role involves managing enterprise infrastructure environments, ensuring high availability, system performance, security compliance, and supporting mission-critical applications across datacenter and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, AIX, Veritas Cluster Server, VMware virtualization, enterprise storage systems, and monitoring tools, along with exposure to cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services.

• Administer and maintain Linux/Unix servers (RHEL, OEL, AIX) in enterprise environments.
• Install, configure, and maintain Veritas Cluster Server for high availability and failover.
• Perform system installation, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning of Linux and AIX servers.
• Manage file systems, disk management (LVM), and storage provisioning.
• Perform OS patching and security hardening following enterprise security standards.
• Monitor system performance and availability using tools such as Nagios and Zabbix.
• Manage virtualized environments using VMware and Nutanix, including VM deployment, migration, and resource allocation.
• Support cloud infrastructure operations including provisioning and management of AWS EC2 instances.
• Configure and maintain middleware components such as Apache Tomcat, Nginx, and JBoss.
• Manage backup and recovery operations using enterprise backup tools.
• Maintain disaster recovery (DR) processes and ensure adherence to corporate DR plans.
• Provide 24/7 production support for mission-critical infrastructure systems.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of infrastructure issues.
• Maintain operational documentation including system reports, backup policies, and incident reports.

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Linux/Unix System Administration.
• Strong expertise in:
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL)
• IBM AIX
• Hands-on experience with Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) and high availability setups.
• Experience with Linux LVM, filesystem administration, and kernel upgrades.
• Experience with VMware virtualization and Nutanix infrastructure.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage systems (EMC, NetApp, IBM Storage).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios and Zabbix.
• Familiarity with automation using shell scripting.
• Experience with patching tools such as Spacewalk and BigFix.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience working with enterprise ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or JIRA.

• Knowledge of DevOps or automation tools such as Chef.
• Experience supporting middleware platforms (Apache, Tomcat, JBoss).
• Exposure to banking or financial services infrastructure environments.
• Experience working in large-scale datacenter operations.
