Healthcare Assistant (Banyan Home)
About the role
Reporting to the Nursing Manager, this full-time Healthcare Assistant role is based in our Banyan Home facility located in the North-East Region. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality, compassionate care to our psychiatric and elderly residents, ensuring their comfort, safety and wellbeing.
What you'll be doing- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide emotional support and engage residents in social activities to promote their overall wellbeing
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents by carrying out basic housekeeping duties
- Collaborate with the nursing team to implement care plans and ensure residents' needs are met
- Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care
- A caring, compassionate and patient-centric approach to healthcare
- Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar role within an aged care or medical setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents and their families
- Excellent observational and problem-solving abilities to identify and address residents' needs
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with relevant healthcare regulations and procedures
