Role: Therapy Assistant

Job Description

The therapy assistant is responsible for providing support to the therapists before, during and after therapy sessions. He/ She is responsible for supporting department administration and operations, as well as participating in continuing education to further his/ her knowledge in the areas of speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.

He/ She also assists to ensure that facilities and equipment are maintained in good working order.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare clients, materials and equipment for assessments or therapy
• Assist therapists to carry out therapist-prescribed exercises and/or programme activities, including group activities
• Conduct basic or routine group therapy under therapists or associates' guidance/ supervision
• Assist therapist during client assessment and treatment
• Communicate information of therapy sessions to therapists/ associates
• Support specialty therapy areas/ specialized clinical programs as instructed by therapists

• Maintain inventories of equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of therapy areas
• Assist with housekeeping duties for the gym and activity areas, including equipment
• Adhere to infection control procedures
• Perform basic data entry, administrative duties
• Undertake training and further learning to improve standard of client care

• Minimum GCE "O" or "N" level with Higher certificate in Healthcare (Therapy Support) or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Good service orientation with empathy and strong listening skills
• Good team player and able to work independently
• Will be based in Redhill
• 5 day work week (Mon - Fri)
