Construction Legal Counsel
Job Summary:
- Basic Salary: $9500 - $12000
- Working hours: Monday to Friday - 8am-5pm
- Working Location: East Region
- Performance Bonus
Job Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure legal compliance and protect the company’s interests.
- Advise on legal structures such as joint ventures and project entities, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Handle legal matters involving trade laws, export controls, and cross-border regulations.
- Identify contract risks and implement measures to minimize legal exposure.
- Support applications and maintenance of required licenses, permits, and approvals for projects.
- Manage contract disputes, claims, arbitrations, and legal proceedings when necessary.
- Provide legal advice and support to internal teams on contracts and related matters.
- Communicate contract terms clearly to stakeholders and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with project, finance, procurement, and other teams to support effective contract management.
- Conduct legal training and compliance briefings for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts and legal documentation.
- Liaise with external legal counsel on legal and regulatory matters.
- Support the development of internal legal policies and governance processes.
- Handle ad hoc legal projects and assignments as required by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university
- Minimum 10 years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house role, preferably within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of Singapore construction laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong negotiation, contract drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
