We’re looking to add a Senior Specialist, Procurement in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.
As a Senior Specialist, Procurement you will:
Be responsible for managing and developing strategies for an assigned group of commodities in terms of sourcing, pricing and supply.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable in electromechanical component commodities such as LCD, LAMP, Battery, Encoder, Cooler, Coupler, Switch, antenna, sensor module, motor, fan, valve, pump, and cable harness assembly.
- Understand the commodity cost matrix and tooling cost estimation.
- Monitor and communicate price trends and market supply activities of assigned commodities; take necessary action when needed.
- Drive and achieve targets for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Drive quartly, half year/ yearly cost reduction and leadtime verification with suppliers. Conduct Quarterly Business Review (QBR) with suppliers to share the needs and expectations of thecompany and provide feedback to suppliers regarding their performance.
- Understand industry and commodity trends to influence the use of standard/ common parts/ materials.
- Follow up of samples or First Article (FA) to be submitted through Product/ FA Engineer to customer for evaluation/ approval.
- Be able to represent the team in internal/ customer interface where required.
- Identify, select and qualify new suppliers with a team of cross functional members.
- Negotiate, manage and review terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Work with the Commodity Manager to identify strategic suppliers for consolidation to boost negotiations on pricing, terms, contracts and agreements.
- Manage suppliers to effectively achieve cost, availability and foster strong supplier relationships.
Requirements:
- Minimum Requirement: college degree in relevant major
- Minimum 2 year experience in purchasing in electrical manufacturing industry sourcing or procurement role
- Strong capability to manage the cross-function communication
- Engineering background, able to read & understand technical drawings & specifications.
- SAP system experience
- Good understanding of the supply base, both local and overseas with good understanding of the outsourcing requirements in China, Singapore and Malaysia.
- Proficient negotiation skills.
