As a Senior Engineer, Metrology, you will play a pivotal role in driving measurement accuracy and technological advancements. You will oversee all aspects of measurement, collaborate across teams and global divisions, and spearhead the development of innovative processes and standards.Your expertise will ensure the reliability of equipment and the delivery of insightful analytical recommendations, all while maintaining the highest levels of operational efficiency and quality.
Our Team
You will be a part of the DSS division, working closely with internal teams such as Advanced Quality Planning (AQP), Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Integration Engineering (MIE), Production, and Project Management (PJM).Externally, you will interact with suppliers and customers, ensuring seamless collaboration and support for metrology-related initiatives.
What You Will Do- Develop and implement precise measurement methods and recipes for inspection and measurement tools.
- Support new product development by ensuring measurement equipment is available and reliable throughout the development process.
- Manage measurement requests, prioritize workload, and meet the needs of product development, quality, and operations teams.
- Analyze measurement data and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Design and develop processes, standards, and work instructions to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operation of measurement tools.
- Maintain and oversee the upkeep of measurement tools to ensure optimal functionality.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in measurement metrology to drive innovation.
- Collaborate globally within the metrology team to share and implement best practices across divisions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Hold decision rights on best measurement methods for part inspection or failure analysis.
- Work independently and review and analyses results.
- Sets directions on how to measure parts and standards on how to measure parts. It will involve process creation and modification and require problem solving and creative thinking
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, or Measurement) or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience as a metrology engineer.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of metrology and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency in Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and problem-solving techniques.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and internet tools.
- Training in Design of Experiments (DOE), Advanced Quality Planning tools such as DFMEA, Lean/Six Sigma, or reliability test plans.
- Hands-on experience in conducting calibration and Gauge R&R studies.
- Familiarity with connectors or switches and experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
