Accountant (Japanese Speaking)

Our client is a leading real estate investment and management platform with a growing presence in Asia. They are seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join their Finance team. This hands-on role covers financial reporting, corporate accounting, and compliance, with a requirement for Japanese language proficiency to support cross-border operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for management decision-making.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations and corporate policies.
• Liaise with external auditors and coordinate audit processes.
• Support tax filings, corporate secretarial matters, and other compliance-related tasks.
• Communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking stakeholders, including investors, partners, and internal teams.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects to improve finance processes and reporting efficiency.

Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; CPA/CA qualification preferred.
• Japanese language proficiency: either native-level or passed JLPT N2/N1 (working proficiency).
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in real estate, private equity, or fund accounting.
• Experience preparing or reviewing consolidated financial statements.
• Familiarity with accounting standards (IFRS, JGAAP is a plus) and internal controls.
• Strong technical skills: Excel, ERP systems (e.g., Yardi, SAP), and reporting tools.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.
