1. Project Planning

• Plans in consultation with management committee and customers mid-term international or interdisciplinary projects, which include various disciplines and involvement of further departments such as Engineering and operational functions internally or globally.
• Defines sub projects and work packages.
• Defines project team and sub project team out of employees of sites, BUs and adjacent disciplines and if necessary employees of external institutes/ universities.
• Prepares the detail planning with regard to project schedule, defines project phases and milestones.
• Plans and monitors project budget.

1. Project implementation

• Leads projects, delegates and coordinates tasks and leads sub project and work package leaders/employees in charge methodically and, from case to case also with regard to the content.
• Executes, monitors and trails project relevant activities.
• Monitors time and result oriented progress.
• Represents projects to management committee.
• Decides on necessity of external resources and deploys them.
• Ensures contract-relating as well as economic- and patent-protected issues of technologies/developments during the projects.
• Ensures compliance of project goals regarding time, costs and quality on basis of QM specifications.
• Leads projects in accordance with SCHOTT guidelines and ensures an appropriate and timely goal achievement of milestone results as planned.

• Documents project progress, presents results.
• Informs management committee or line manager regarding the project progress.
