Warehouse Operations Manager (Hands-On Build Phase)

Role Summary

We are hiring a Warehouse Operations Manager to take full ownership of our warehouse operations across inventory, fulfilment, and process execution.

This is a hands-on role. You will be directly involved in:

• Picking and packing
• Container unloading
• Stock organisation
• System execution

You will build the system first, then scale and manage it.

If you are looking to “manage from day one”, this role is not for you.

1. Daily Warehouse Execution (First 3–6 Months: 70–80% of role)

• Execute picking & packing for:Retail fulfilment (~100 cartons/week)E-commerce orders (~50 orders/day)
• Perform container unstuffing (1–2 times/month)
• Sort and organise inbound inventory into designated storage zones
• Maintain clean, logical, and efficient warehouse layout
• Operate pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment

1. Inventory Control & Accuracy

• Maintain accurate stock levels across all SKUs (~150 SKUs)
• Oversee:Barcode system integrityStock movement trackingCycle counts and reconciliation
• Identify and resolve discrepancies quickly

1. Warehouse Systems & Process Building

• Execute and refine existing Google Sheet-based systems for:Picking listsReplenishment triggersInventory tracking
• Improve:Picking efficiencyStorage logicReplenishment workflows
• Build SOPs for repeatable operations

1. Planning & Coordination

• Plan weekly fulfilment schedules for:Retail store replenishmentE-commerce dispatch
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries across all locations
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (retail, e-commerce)

1. Team Leadership (Phase 2: After Systems Stabilise)

• Train and manage warehouse staff
• Allocate manpower based on workload
• Monitor performance and enforce standards
• Step in operationally when needed,no task is beneath you

• Orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
• Inventory discrepancies are minimal and controlled
• Warehouse layout is logical, clean, and scalable
• Systems run with low friction and minimal supervision
• You transition from “doing everything” → “running a system”

• Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or operations roles
• Comfortable with manual labour and physical work
• Strong attention to detail and operational discipline
• Able to work with spreadsheets and basic systems (Google Sheets)
• Problem-solver with a bias for execution over theory

• You are willing to do the work before managing others
• You take ownership, not just responsibility
• You are structured, organised, and process-driven
• You can operate in a lean team (1–3 people)

• Not a desk job
• Not a “supervisor-only” role
• Not suitable for candidates unwilling to do physical work
