As the Autonomous Vehicle and Technology Transformation Manager, your key focus will be to lead the planning and implementation of autonomous bus operations for SBS Transit, driving their integration into Singapore’s public transport system.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for the introduction and implementation of autonomous buses within the public bus transport system.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including LTA, to ensure alignment of AV bus plans with organizational goals and national transport objectives.

• Research and evaluate the efficacy, safety, and reliability of AV bus technologies for use in public transportation.
• Recommend and oversee the adoption of suitable AV technologies, including autonomous buses and their remote operations systems.
• Identify and assess emerging technologies, including AI, that can enhance operational efficiency, safety, and service quality in the public bus sector.

Technology Implementation:

• Work closely with AV vendors to plan, coordinate, and support the safe and progressive deployment of AV buses, including the enablement of remote operations.
• Collaborate with operational units to introduce AV bus technologies and ensure frontline teams are adequately trained and operationally ready to deploy AV buses safely.
• Coordinate with company stakeholders to deploy new technologies that enhance work processes and track their effectiveness and operational impact.

Regulatory Compliance and Advocacy:

• Stay abreast of evolving regulations and standards related to AV bus public transportation.
• Engage with regulatory bodies to influence and shape supportive policies.

Project Management:

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring all aspects of the implementation are on track and within budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and optimize project efficiency

Requirements:

• At least 8–10 years of relevant experience, with a strong track record in leadership and project management.
• Experience in public transportation, infrastructure, policy, or technology implementation is preferred, though not mandatory.
• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technologies, or with applying emerging technologies (e.g. AI, IoT) in operational settings, is highly desirable.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, with the capacity to translate long-term visions into actionable roadmaps.
• Proven project management and organisational skills, with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage and align diverse internal and external stakeholders.
