Our thirst for technology is a part of everything we do. The Data Center Engineering team takes the physical design of our data centers into the future. Our lab mirrors a research and development department -- cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and tested again.Along with a team of great minds, you take on complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact.
You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.
With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).
QualificationsJob responsibilities
- Provide architectural engineering expertise for design-related activities in connection with Google data centers. Serve as an in-house technical advisory and authorized technical representative in architectural engineering matters.
- Work with stakeholders and partner teams, external vendors including Architecture and Engineering, suppliers and contractors to execute the architectural design and interrelated disciplinary co-ordination including permitting.
- Provide architectural guidance. Review design principles, drawings, calculations, submittals and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain Google standards while advising any localization required. Provide and drive solutions for consideration and approval.
- Update and maintain the internal design specifications, guidelines, requirements and standards to the latest configurations and solutions based on new requirements, lessons learned and feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- Experience in architecture design and building elements (e.g., roof, facade, flooring etc).
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or a professional engineering license or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Experience with cross-discipline teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural).
- Experience in managing multiple projects.
- Ability to analyze and think while customizing communication based on the audience and project.
