About the role
Advanced VetCare Veterinary Centre is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Patient Care Assistant to join our team in the Bedok & Central Region. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our veterinary operations and ensuring the highest standards of animal care and welfare.As a Veterinary Patient Care Assistant, you will be at the heart of our practice, working closely with veterinarians and nursing staff to provide compassionate care to our animal patients whilst maintaining a welcoming environment for their owners.
What you'll be doing- Assisting veterinarians and veterinary nurses
- Providing basic patient care including feeding, watering, cleaning and exercise for hospitalised animals
- Maintaining kennels, cages and treatment areas to ensure they are clean, safe and hygienic
- Sterilising and preparing equipment and instruments for surgical and clinical procedures
- Recording accurate patient information and medical histories in our veterinary management system
- Greeting clients and their pets, managing check-ins and providing a calm, reassuring experience
- Assisting with the reception desk duties and scheduling appointments as required
- Supporting the monitoring and observation of patient
- Maintaining stock levels of supplies and assisting with inventory management
- Adhering to health and safety protocols and practising excellent biosecurity measures
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing compassionate care
- Previous experience working with animals, ideally in a veterinary, boarding or rescue environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with both clients and colleagues
- Physical fitness and ability to handle animals of various sizes safely and effectively
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Reliability and a positive, flexible attitude towards work
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Knowledge of basic animal behaviour and handling techniques is preferred
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development
- Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing or Animal Care are advantageous but not essential for entry-level candidates
