Project Engineer (Lighting - Tender & Project Coordination)

The role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

1. Tendering & Quotation (Key Responsibility)

• Prepare and manage tenders and quotations based on project requirements.
• Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Analyse and compare products and services to propose suitable solutions.
• Propose alternative products or value-engineering solutions when required.
• Examine client requirements and scope of work to prepare accurate quotations.
• Prepare technical specifications and compliance documents.
• Maintain and update supplier information, including product ranges, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Liaise with suppliers on technical and commercial matters.

1. Lighting Design & Technical Support

• Perform basic lighting design and technical calculations when required.

1. Project Coordination & Execution

• Coordinate and manage project activities to ensure smooth and timely completion.
• Monitor project progress and provide accurate and timely updates to management.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Attend site meetings and inspections.
• Assist in project documentation and submissions.
• Handle project risk management and issue escalation.

1. General Duties

• Support the Project Manager in project-related tasks.
• Assist in resolving technical or site-related issues.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer in the local construction industry.
• Experience in tender preparation and costing will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of lighting products or lighting design is preferred.
• Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD and Dialux is an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and result-driven environment.
