Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Sales Manager or Sales Manager to join our Sales & Marketing team, with a focus on either Rooms or Catering Sales. This is a strategic role aimed at driving revenue and elevating the hotel's market position through effective sales leadership, client engagement, and market development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for either the Rooms or Catering segment, depending on their expertise, and will not be required to manage both simultaneously.

Job Description:

  • Lead and manage all sales activities within your segment (Rooms or Catering), ensuring alignment with the hotel’s marketing and revenue plans.
  • Procure new and repeat business by cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders such as corporate clients, travel agents, event planners, and industry partners.
  • Conduct sales visits, client calls, written communications, and personal presentations to generate leads and convert opportunities.
  • Represent the hotel at major promotional events, trade shows, and sales missions to promote its services and facilities.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities and implement strategies to maximize revenue.
  • Maintain regular contact with key accounts and potential clients through site inspections, familiarization trips, and pre/post-event meetings.
  • Develop tailored proposals and negotiate terms pertinent to conferences, meetings, weddings, and other catered events (if in Catering Sales).
  • Act as a liaison between clients and operational departments to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the preparation and execution of the Annual Revenue Plan and departmental budget.
  • Develop and implement action plans to achieve revenue goals through increased occupancy, rate, business volume, and food & beverage sales (as applicable).
  • Monitor departmental costs and ensure profitability aligns with financial targets.
  • Oversee and support the performance of Sales Managers, Assistant Sales Managers, and Sales Executives.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, coaching, counselling, and training to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
  • Ensure a productive work environment and maintain strong internal communication within the team and across departments.
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of promotional materials in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Organize in-house and off-site promotional activities, including wedding shows, sales events, and media opportunities (as applicable).
  • Develop targeted marketing strategies in collaboration with the Digital and Marketing team to enhance the hotel's visibility and positioning.
Operational Support (Catering Focused, if applicable)
  • Support the Banquet Operations team by ensuring accurate and timely communication of event details.
  • Manage administrative tasks including BEO preparation, vendor coordination, cost control, and AV/technical support.
  • Maintain detailed records of events, menus, client preferences, budgets, and feedback for future reference and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant sales experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Proven track record in either Rooms or Catering Sales, with experience managing key accounts and driving revenue.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of market analysis, budgeting, and revenue strategies.
  • Willingness to travel locally or internationally for sales trips and events.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

This role is open to professionals specializing in either Rooms Sales or Catering Sales. The incumbent will be assigned to the area that best aligns with their background and the hotel’s strategic needs.
