FINANCIAL CONTROLLER (RETAIL INDUSTRY)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting
  • Oversee the Group’s day-to-day accounting and finance activities including the timely preparation and submission of financial and management reports
  • Plan and coordinate the audit processes to ensure timely completion
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for financial and tax submission and filings
  • Review, propose revisions (if necessary) and ensure adherence to the Group’s Finance Policy and practices
  • Working closely with operations teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of data
  • Provide financial leadership across the business in order to meet business plan targets
  • Conduct financial due diligence and highlight any internal control risks.
Reporting
  • Providing strategic financial information to management team
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of financial, management and budgetary reports to Management and other stakeholders
Budgeting and Control
  • Plan, coordinate and prepare the Group’s annual budget for approval.
  • Regular review of the Group’s budget and highlight variances and risks
  • Regular review with the Operations team to highlight achievements, shortfalls and necessary remedial actions
  • Advise Management and Board on long-term business and financial planning
Treasury
  • Forecast, monitor and manage the Group’s cashflow for operations, asset and facilities maintenance
  • Forecast and manage the Group’s treasury requirements
Leadership and Management
  • Plan, manage and control headcount requirements to meet the Group’s financial and reporting requirements
  • Providing leadership, direction, training and management of the finance and accounting team
  • Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualified
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in finance leadership role
  • IFRS experience and understanding of corporate regulatory and tax requirements
  • Experience in handling annual plan, forecasting and audit processes
  • Experience in treasury, funding and cashflow management
  • Possess exemplary aptitude, business acumen, strategic thinking as well as communication, leadership and business partnering skill
  • Be adept at decision-making and adaptability
  • Strategic minded with ability to understand all aspects of the business and investment
  • Ability to make value added changes to achieve business objectives and goals
  • A good team player
