Commercial Manager / Assistant Commercial Manager

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the project QS team to ensure proper cost control and contract administration.
• Monitor and control project costs in line with company budgets.
• Prepare, review and negotiate variations, VO claims and other contractual entitlements with clients and consultants.
• Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting, forecasting and financial updates to management.
• Oversee procurement and administration of subcontractors, suppliers and consultant services.
• Review and manage contract documentation, including tender, award and final account settlement.
• Support risk management by identifying and highlighting key commercial and contractual risks.
• Foster and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Science or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction industry, preferably with a main contractor.
• Solid understanding of contract and construction law, tendering procedures, contract conditions and variation/claim management.
• Strong cost control skills with proven track record in managing project budgets.
• Architectual experience in MRT will be an added advantage.
• Meticulous, analytical, and strong in numeracy with good commercial acumen.
• Able to lead QS team with hands-on approach and work well under a fast-paced environment.
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proactive, solution-driven mindset.
