Toa Payoh - Digital Audio & IT Support Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a technically skilled and versatile individual to join our team as a Digital Audio and IT Support Engineer. This role combines responsibilities in digital audio streaming, mobile apps, playback systems, and IT support across our broadcast operations.
The scope includes system setup, troubleshooting, scripting, and networking, which are essential to supporting our end-to-end broadcast infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should be proficient with computers, capable of basic programming or scripting, and comfortable working in a fast-paced media environment. Prior experience with networking will be an advantage.
Roles & Responsibilities
Digital Audio Operations- Set up, operate, and maintain digital audio streaming systems and software (e.g., Telos Zipstream)
- Ensure seamless live audio streaming through web and mobile applications
- Support for Podcast uploads and audio content workflows
Coordinate with external vendors for streaming, app, and content delivery platforms
IT Support Functions- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software across the broadcast network
- Manage user login accounts and access controls
- Perform regular backups, software updates, and system monitoring
- Work with our IT and application vendors for system support
Create and maintain simple scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate workflows
Who we are looking for- Diploma or Degree in Audio Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong computer proficiency with the ability to write basic scripts or programs
- Experience with digital audio streaming and CDN platforms (e.g., Triton, Radio Mast, Media Stream)
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Basic understanding of IT systems and troubleshooting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to document technical procedures and SOPs
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Experience with live audio systems or streaming setups is preferred
- Knowledge of audio-visual equipment (mixers, microphones, speakers) is preferred
- Familiarity with cloud services and broadcast-related IT infrastructure is preferred
- Networking experience or knowledge is an advantage
The ideal candidate will be primarily based at SPH News Centre, with responsibilities extending to the Print Centre and Bukit Timah Hill. You may be required to work occasionally in the evenings or on weekends due to maintenance and/or troubleshooting work.
