Site Engineer – BMS Testing (Data Centre) Job Description

Job Summary

This is an onsite / field‑based role with frequent visits to data centre sites in Singapore and possibly the region.

• Conduct site testing and functional checks of BMS systems (HVAC, chillers, pumps, AHUs, UPS, generators, fire panels, security, etc.) in data centres.
• Perform loop checks, point‑to‑point verification, alarm testing and trend checks against approved control drawings and sequence of operations (SOO).
• Assist in BMS commissioning activities, including controller configuration, network checks, and integration with third‑party systems (EPMS, DCIM, fire, security).
• Identify and resolve BMS alarms, faults and control issues in coordination with M&E contractors and data centre operations teams.
• Prepare and maintain testing records, commissioning reports, point lists and as‑built documentation for BMS works.
• Support handover and O&M handover packages, including training of site operators on BMS operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Follow site safety procedures, data centre security protocols and work permits when working in live data centre environments.
• Liaise with project managers, BMS designers, and client representatives to clarify requirements and escalate critical issues.

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation, Automation, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent working experience).
• 2–5 years of field experience in BMS, building automation, or M&E controls, preferably in data centres, commercial buildings or industrial facilities.
• Hands‑on experience with BMS testing, point‑to‑point checks, alarm testing and trend verification.
• Familiarity with common BMS protocols and systems such as BACnet, Modbus TCP/RTU, SNMP, Tridium, Siemens, Schneider, Trend, Johnson Controls, etc. (any one is acceptable).
• Basic understanding of HVAC, chilled‑water systems, UPS, generators and fire protection systems in data centres.
• Comfortable working in live data centre environments, shift duties or unscheduled testing windows when required.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on site.
• Valid Singapore work pass (Employment Pass / SPass / Local/PR) and ability to travel to data centre sites in Singapore.

• May involve non‑standard hours, ad‑hoc support during commissioning, and occasional weekend work.
• Must comply with data centre security clearances, access control and safety regulations.
