Assistant Contract Manager – Portering Services (Healthcare)

Job Purpose

Support the Senior Assistant Contract Manager and Contract Manager in driving operational excellence and business performance. Lead day-to-day portering operations to consistently meet contractual KPIs, SLAs, and client expectations while ensuring full compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
  • Oversee daily portering operations to ensure seamless, reliable service delivery.
  • Take ownership of assigned operational areas and ensure contractual KPIs and SLAs are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain professional standards in all interactions with patients, staff, visitors, and stakeholders.
People Management & Development
  • Lead, guide, and support supervisors and frontline teams.
  • Build and sustain a high-performing, disciplined, and service-oriented workforce.
  • Coach and mentor staff to enhance capability, engagement, and succession readiness.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Establish strong, collaborative relationships with hospital clients and stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage feedback and service issues, converting challenges into constructive solutions.
  • Support service enhancement and growth initiatives.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in service quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Review and enhance SOPs, operational manuals, and work processes.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, MOH, MOM, ISO, JCI, and hospital requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to organisational policies.
Financial & Resource Management
  • Optimise manpower, materials, and costs to support budgetary control.
  • Support P&L objectives through efficient resource utilisation.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Service delivery effectiveness and response times
  • Achievement of contractual KPIs and SLAs
  • Client satisfaction and feedback outcomes
  • Safety performance and risk reduction
  • Workforce productivity and compliance performance
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Diploma or above in Operations, Facilities Management, Healthcare Services, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory or management experience (healthcare preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • High professionalism, integrity, and ability to perform in a fast-paced healthcare environment
