Pharmacy Assistant/Technician/Pharmacist (East, Hospital, Office Hours) #HRY

• Assist in the preparation, packing, and labelling of medications including nursing home supplies
• Handle non-clinical medication-related tasks as assigned by pharmacists or technicians
• Adhere to pharmacy policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures
• Assist in loading and unloading medications for automated packing systems (ATDPS)
• Perform deboxing and deblistering of medications from primary packaging
• Assist basic maintenance of packing machines and work areas
• Escalate any machine or process irregularities to pharmacy technicians or pharmacists
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and shelving of pharmacy stocks
• Ensure medications are stored neatly and according to First-In-First-Out (FIFO) principles
• Support stock rotation, expiry checks, and housekeeping of storage areas
• Assist in stock counts and inventory checks as required
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of pharmacy and packing areas
• Assist with documentation, filing, and record-keeping
• Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations
• Support billing process for medication

• Process medication orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform billing-related functions as required
• Adhere to pharmacy policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures
• Maintain packing areas in a clean, organised, and compliant manner
• Perform multidose medication packing using ATDPS
• Deblister medications from original packaging as required
• Provide operational oversight of automated dispensing and packing systems
• Ensure correct setup of new medication canisters
• Troubleshoot and resolve system transaction issues
• Ensure automation processes are efficient and functioning optimally
• Perform final checks on packed medications to ensure accuracy and safety
• Maintain accurate and complete records of packed prescriptions
• Assist with stock control activities, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
• Ensure medications are stored properly, neatly, and according to First-In-First-Out principles and stipulated storage conditions
• Conduct cycle counts and ensure stock accuracy in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures

• To be involved in clinical and administrative duties.
• To develop and review services provided by the Pharmacy department such that the profession keeps abreast in providing timely and cost-efficient pharmacy services to the community.
• Must be willing to work on weekends and public holidays
