Roles & Responsibilities
Protege Fund Services is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, managing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure systems, including client devices.Your primary responsibility shall be to ensure the stability, security and efficiency of our in-house and project’s IT systems while providing technical support to our internal teams.
As we are a fast-growing, scale-up organization, our ideal candidate should be open to learn new things, able to self-manage and perform effectively on assigned tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. This position is a Full-Time role and shall be based in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
- Provide IT systems support and maintenance. Deploy, configure and maintain IT infrastructure systems based on Company’s requirements.
- Collaborate with other internal team members and project stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of systems, deployment and onboarding of devices, and implementation of security policies where required.
- Provide System Administration support to manage and maintain servers, storage, virtualization, and network infrastructure including monitoring system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular system updates and patches.
- Propose, implement, and maintain security measures to protect data and systems from threats and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001…etc.).
- Develop and maintain DLP, backup and disaster recovery plans and procedures, conduct regular testing of backups and recovery processes whenever required or as scheduled.
- Maintain and update comprehensive documentation of system configurations and procedures.
- Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and improvements whenever required and propose improvements and preventions.
- Identify opportunities for automation and optimization of IT and business processes. Introduce solutions to streamline and increase efficiency of in-house IT processes and where required, implement automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated solutions that enhance operational efficiency, streamline reporting workflows, and reduce manual tasks across business functions.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux servers, workstations, switches, routers, access points, and end-user devices.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in VBA macros or other commonly used programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, SQL) to support the team’s automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of systems networking principles and protocols.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems engineering and administration.
