As a Part-Time / Relief English or Mathematics Teacher at Elmwood International College, you will deliver engaging and structured lessons to students aged 13–16, many of whom are preparing for entry into English-medium academic systems.
You will play a key role in building students’ academic confidence, language proficiency, and subject mastery, particularly for learners from international backgrounds.
This role focuses on both high-quality teaching and thoughtful lesson preparation, allowing you to create meaningful and effective learning experiences for your students.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct 3-hour lessons (9:00am–12:00pm or 1:00pm–4:00pm) in English and/or Mathematics
Plan and prepare structured lesson materials aligned with curriculum objectives
Deliver clear, engaging, and well-paced lessons that meet learning outcomes
Support students in developing strong foundational skills and exam readiness
Adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches for ESL learners and mixed-ability classes
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction where necessary
Foster a positive, disciplined, and encouraging classroom environment
Collaborate with the academic team and contribute to continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
Minimum University Degree
Passion for working with teenagers (ages 13–16)
Strong ability to engage, manage, and communicate with students
Driven, responsible, and committed to delivering high-quality teaching
Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience in a classroom setting (tuition centres or schools)
Experience teaching English and/or Mathematics at lower secondary level
Familiarity with international or Singapore-based academic systems
ESL teaching experience is a strong advantage
Conversational Mandarin is an advantage (to support communication with students and parents)
Background from local institutions (NUS/NTU/SMU/Polytechnics/JCs) is preferred
Role Details
Location: Raffles Place (Central Business District)
Flexible part-time and relief teaching opportunities- hour teaching blocks:
Morning: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Afternoon: 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Opportunity to take on multiple classes based on availability
Initial roles are relief / part-time, with potential progression to:
Flexi-contract roles
Full-time teaching positions
