As a Counsellor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering evidence-based support to families. This position offers the unique opportunity to combine clinical insight with proactive education to build resilient marriages and parenting foundations.
Responsibilities:
Counselling & Casework- Provide counselling and casework support to individuals, couples, and families.
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and participate in case discussions.
- Provide information and referral services to connect clients with relevant community resources.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation in adherence with organisational and practice framework
- Conduct outreach to families through mass, group, and individual engagement to encourage participation in FFLC programmes.
- Deliver FFLC evidence-based parenting and marriage programmes.
- Contribute to the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes and Family Life Education (FLE) resources.
- Maintain sign-up and attendance records for clients and follow established counselling and programme procedures.
- Conduct and support Family Life Education talks and workshops for schools and community partners.
- Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and school counsellors to reach parents and identify family needs.
- Recommend suitable programmes and provide information and referral support for parents.
- Work with Parent Support Groups and Fathers’ Groups to strengthen outreach and explore partnership opportunities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community agencies, schools, and organisations.
- Cultivate professional partnerships with stakeholders to enhance programme reach and impact
Job Requirements:
- Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Counselling
- A minimum of 3 years in social work/counselling OR 5 years of experience in Family Life Education.
- Specialized Training: Certification in Triple P (Positive Parenting Program), Signposts, or Prepare/Enrich is an advantage.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; bilingual proficiency is preferred to engage effectively with our diverse community.
- Availability to work some Saturdays and weekday evenings to meet the needs of working families.
This position is on contract basis.
