Director / Emergency Planning and Risk Management

What the role is]
You will lead a small team and support Group Director/Corporate Strategy & Planning in coordinating operational risks, incident reporting, crisis management, and emergency planning matters at both NParks and Whole-of-Government (WOG) levels.You will have the opportunity to bring fresh perspectives and approaches to enhance our emergency planning, risk management and crisis management capabilities.
[What you will be working on]- Maintain and review NParks’ Enterprise Risk Management framework and policies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including risk owners and leads to review and update operational risks, including SOPs, and plan and conduct exercises and drills
- Support senior management in crisis management, including crisis management team (CMT) activation, operations coordination, and incident reporting
- Participate in various crisis planning committees at NParks and WOG levels
- Lead key projects to build up organisational capabilities in emergency planning and risk management, including the exploration of crisis management applications as well as strengthening proficiency of operations staff in managing risks and crisis.
- At least 8 years’ relevant work experience in risk management, emergency planning, and crisis management as well as supervising a team of staff
- Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills with good command of English
- Certifications in emergency planning or risk management will be an advantage
