Automation and Product Design Engineer - Toa Payoh

Responsibilities:

• Taking a role in creative workshops, generating and visualizing your own ideas and those of the team around you
• Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
• Prototype and test new designs, iterating based on feedback and test results.
• Work closely with sales and production teams to ensure product designs meet customer needs and company objectives.
• Transfer of designs to manufacture through liaison with external suppliers.
• Manage the end-to-end development of automated machines, including planning, design, testing, and implementation.
• Spending time at automation partners, manufacturing sites, and acting as the liaison between the company, the design team and the manufacturer to ensure realization of products.
• Troubleshooting automation and manufacturing problems
• Applying your knowledge of automation to ensure company goals and objectives are met.

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in automation, industrial design, or mechanics tertiary program
• Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in Automation and product design
• Strong in computer aided design, or CAD. (Autodesk Inventor)
• Able to manage existing Automation systems and improvements for new systems
• Able to demonstrate innovative past product designs through a portfolio or simple case studies
• Comfortable in structural analysis, or FEA
• Familiar with design for manufacture, or DFM

Working Environment :

• This position may require occasional travel to vendor sites and customer (local and overseas).
