We are currently looking for a Senior Primary Engineer to provide technical expertise in High Voltage Primary Engineering managing primary design for distribution and transmission systems (22kV to 500kV). The role is expected to be a trusted advisor for clients and attain work and confidence in technical skills and ability to deliver what clients require for their business, on time and on budget.As appropriate, you will also mentor and develop other engineers to grow Jacobs offering in your area of specialty.

As a technical leader, you will lead and provide technical support to the design team.
You will have the ability to lead and provide technical direction to engineers locally and in our Global Delivery Centres to deliver design packages. Responsible for technical leadership to promote engagement of APAC Substations Team with our Global Community of Practice.
Main duties include:
- Developing primary engineering deliverables including substation layout design, clearances, short circuit force calculations, lighting calculations, and earthing .
- Fulfilling the role of Lead Engineer for projects within defined packages, delivering on time and budget
- Providing technical direction to design teams, including engineers in our Global Delivery Centers Interact with and support other disciplines (civil, structural, secondary)
- Has an in-depth expertise in own job discipline and broad knowledge of other job disciplines within the Power industry
- Provide technical leadership to deliver technically excellent engineering designs and consultancy services. Independently carry out design and review on Projects.
- Managing and undertaking technical reviews of deliverables
- Attending and participating in project and client meetings
- Contributing to proposal preparation, scope development, pricing, and occasionally lead proposal coordination
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships as a trusted adviser
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
- Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
- Develops and maintains ‘personal brand’ in the industry with clients, partners and industry bodies.
- Internalizes customer feedback and provides innovative ideas to meet their future needs.
- Adapts or shifts priorities in response to the needs of clients, constituents, or the organization.
- Brings an approach to flexibility that becomes ingrained in the organization's structures, systems, and culture.
- Guides the organization to remain flexible in a changing, competitive environment by being a role model for adaptability
- Leads the organization through high-stakes situations, crises, or conditions of uncertainty.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Electrical Engineers) would be an added advantage
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Primary Design Engineering
- Demonstrated expertise in HV Primary Electrical Engineering for transmission and distribution systems
- Proficiency with CAD software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of industry standards and practices Experience in leading engineers and design teams
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across geographies
- Communicates clear goals and roles to team members.
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships
- Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
- Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges. Recommends process, product or service improvements
- Models teamwork by working effectively with other leaders throughout the organization.
