Job Summary
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead our precious metals recycling and gold buyback business. You will oversee end-to-end operations, ensuring compliance, driving growth, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
Responsibilities- Lead daily operations of the precious metals recycling and gold buyback business to ensure efficient, secure, and compliant processes.
- Authenticate, test, and value gold and precious metals using industry-standard methods and equipment to determine authenticity, purity, and value.
- Evaluate and negotiate purchase prices based on market rates, metal content, purity, and company policies to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor precious metals market trends and adjust buyback pricing strategies accordingly.
- Implement and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements including AML/CFT, KYC, record-keeping, and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate transaction records, customer documentation, compliance files, and inventory records to support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Manage inventory, logistics, cash flow, and operational resources to optimize performance and safeguard assets.
- Perform daily cash reconciliation, transaction balancing, end-of-day closing, and monthly inventory and financial reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare operational, sales, inventory, and financial reports; coordinate tax-related documentation and reporting.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transactions, inventory, customer documentation, financial reporting, or operations.
- Supervise staff, oversee transaction processing, and uphold high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
- Coordinate and maintain security systems including CCTV, access controls, and operational equipment to ensure safety of personnel and assets.
- Oversee maintenance of office facilities, IT systems, and business equipment to support uninterrupted operations.
- Support accounting and administrative functions including invoicing, expense tracking, bookkeeping coordination, and documentation management.
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives such as promotional materials, digital marketing, social media content, and customer engagement activities to drive business growth.
- Liaise with banks, regulatory authorities, auditors, suppliers, and external partners to maintain effective working relationships.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and business expansion opportunities.
- Diploma, Degree, or equivalent professional experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or related fields.
- Experience in business operations, management, sales, or customer-facing roles, preferably within precious metals recycling, gold trading, pawnbroking, jewelry, or PSPM industries.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively, build customer relationships, and close transactions.
- Experience in gold testing, precious metals valuation, appraisal, or related activities.
- Knowledge of precious metals authentication and purity assessment methods including electronic gold testers, acid testing, XRF analyzers, and weight verification.
- Strong understanding of precious metals pricing mechanisms and international gold market trends.
- Familiarity with AML/CFT, KYC, PSPM regulatory requirements, and other relevant compliance frameworks in Singapore.
- Experience in bookkeeping, financial reconciliation, tax documentation preparation, cash management, and financial record keeping.
- Familiarity with Singapore accounting practices, tax regulations, and corporate compliance requirements.
- Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify counterfeit, plated, altered, or suspicious precious metal items and take appropriate action per company procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software, POS systems, and business management applications.
- Proficiency in Mandarin to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and business partners.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and multitasking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
