General Manager (Construction Operations)

Our client is seeking a General Manager (Construction Operations) to join their team!

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Singapore Building & Civil Division, developing and executing business strategy and overseeing project operations. You'll identify new opportunities, manage projects effectively, and ensure compliance with company standards.

• Working day: 5 days
• Working Hour: 830am-6pm
• Working Location: Jurong East
• Salary Range: $13,000-$18,000

• Strategic leadership: Identify new opportunities and develop strategies to secure profitable contracts, ensuring stable business growth.
• Technical expertise: Participate in technical reviews of tenders, assess quotations, and interview subcontractors to identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Tender management: Oversee the preparation, finalization, and submission of tenders for all building & civil projects.
• Project oversight: Effectively manage all building & civil projects, ensuring they meet budget, progress, productivity, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Team guidance: Provide comprehensive advice to project teams and ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
• Delivery excellence: Lead project teams to ensure timely delivery according to planned milestones, within allocated resources, and in compliance with contractual requirements.
• Financial stewardship: Monitor and manage the financial performance of projects, ensuring alignment with budgets and financial targets.
• Collaborative partnerships: Work closely with the Commercial team to manage project aspects and achieve financial goals.
• Technical and people leadership: Provide guidance on technical delivery and excel in people management.
• Stakeholder management: Conduct regular status meetings with departments, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project progression.
• Performance analysis: Review forecasts, budgets, and project documents to maintain optimal performance.
• Relationship building: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, consultants, partners, and industry bodies.
• Organizational alignment: Ensure company policies and plans align with broader group processes and internal systems.

• Educational background: Degree in Building, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline recognized by Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or Building & Construction Authority (BCA).
• Industry experience: At least 15 years of experience in a similar capacity in the construction industry, with a focus on commercial building, institutional, and infrastructure projects.
• Specialized knowledge: Familiarity with GM Platinum, PBU, PPVC, MET, or DfMA projects is highly valued.
• Contract expertise: Good knowledge of various contract forms (e.g., NEC, SIA, REDAS, PSSCOC) and local statutory codes.
• Regulatory understanding: In-depth practical experience with local statutory regulations for design and building projects.
• Commercial acumen: Proven record of good commercial & contractual judgment, with the ability to implement tight cost control measures.
• Supply chain proficiency: Competence in supply chain management and health and safety practices on project sites.
• Business mindset: Strong technical knowledge combined with a keen business sense and broad perspective.
• Innovation focus: Sensitivity to the latest technology and market trends in the construction industry.
• Digital readiness: Mindset to work effectively in a digital environment and embrace technological advancements.
