Job summary
- Working hours: Monday to Friday: 7.15am to 2.45pm
- Work location: 49 Marine Crescent, Singapore 449761 (Nearest MRT Marine Terrace/Marine Parade)
- Employment type: 5 months contract
- Provides one-on-one pastoral support for students who are anxious, distressed, withdrawn or emotionally overwhelmed
- Uses restorative practices, active listening and de-escalation strategies to manage situations constructively
- Builds trusting relationships and creates a safe, confidential space for students to share concerns
- Identifies, monitors and supports students who may be vulnerable or at risk
- Maintains regular check-ins and track changes in student behaviour, attendance and well-being
- Works collaboratively with Year Heads, School Counsellors and Discipline Mistress to ensure coordinated support
- Responds promptly to incidents such as emotional breakdowns, conflicts or aggressive behaviour
- Plans, conducts or supports Social-emotional learning (SEL) and Peer support initiatives
- Communicates sensitively with parents/guardians regarding student well-being and behavioural concerns
- Coordinates with external agencies when additional support is required
- Minimally possess a Diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Education or a related discipline
- Strong empathy and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students
- Good communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and composed in challenging situations
- Basic conflict resolution and behaviour management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
- Prior experience working with children in a primary school, student care, or enrichment setting is preferred
- Experience in student well-being, pastoral care or behavioural support programmes
- Exposure to counselling, mentoring or guiding students with social-emotional needs
