We are a well-established insurance brokerage firm in Singapore, dedicated to delivering trusted insurance solutions and excellent client service. As we grow, we are looking for a capable and experienced Accountant/ Senior Accountant to lead and strengthen our finance function and support our operational teams in maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Salary: $4,500 - $6,000

Position Summary:

A key responsibility is to reconcile brokerage accounts accurately, identify discrepancies across reports, and guide a team that may not have formal accounting backgrounds. The ideal candidate is well-versed in insurance brokerage processes and has strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily finance operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, premium fund management, and cash flow.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and MAS requirements.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business objectives.
• Responsibilities such as handling full sets of accounts, tax computation, GST filing, and liaising with auditors.
• Manage premium collections, client trust accounts, and timely remittance to insurers in line with regulations.
• Take ownership of all reconciliations related to brokerage operations — including premiums, insurer payables, commissions, and brokerage income.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies when accounting reports fail to reconcile.
• Provide clear guidance and support to a finance team that may not have formal accounting training, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial data.
• Establish and enforce robust internal controls, SOPs, and financial policies to safeguard company and client funds.
• Lead, coach, and develop the finance team to build capabilities and uphold high standards of work.
• Partner with management to provide financial insights that support business decisions and strategic growth.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CA (Singapore) is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably in insurance brokerage, insurance, or financial services with potential for long-term development and growth.
• Strong knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements for insurance brokers.
• Hands-on experience in reconciliations, problem-solving, and issue resolution in a brokerage setting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Meticulous, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel).
