Driver

About the role

As a Driver, you will be the face of our organisation, representing our company values and commitment to excellent customer service whilst operating vehicles and managing routes across the region.

• Operate vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to customers within assigned routes and schedules
• Plan and manage delivery routes to optimise efficiency whilst meeting scheduled deadlines
• Load, unload and secure cargo safely and appropriately, following health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance
• Conduct pre and post-journey vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects or mechanical issues promptly
• Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries, handling customer queries and resolving issues where possible
• Comply with all relevant traffic laws, road regulations and company driving policies
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle interior and cargo area
• Report incidents, accidents or damage to management immediately and complete necessary documentation

• Valid Class 3 or 4 driving licence with a clean driving record
• Valid forklift license is advantage
• Proven experience working as a driver in a commercial, courier, delivery or logistics environment
• Strong knowledge of road traffic regulations and safe driving practices
• Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to tight schedules
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry and handle goods (up to 45kgs with caego hand) safely and appropriately
• Reliability and punctuality with a strong commitment to attendance
• Familiarity with route planning and GPS navigation systems
• ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks
