Position Overview
As the Managing Director, you will hold commercialand operational responsibility for Novagate. You will steer the company’sstrategic trajectory, scaling our service delivery, driving businessdevelopment with mid-market and enterprise clients, and cultivating ahigh-performing culture of engineers, data scientists, and consultants.Yourprimary objective will be to expand Novagate’s market presence, maximize clientROI, and institutionalize efficient delivery frameworks as we scale.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership & Growth: Define and execute the company’s long-term commercial strategy to accelerate revenue growth, identifying emerging market opportunities within the AI, automation, and enterprise data spaces.
- Commercial & Business Development: Act as the executive sponsor for high-value client relationships. Drive the business development pipeline, shaping complex AI consultancy proposals, and positioning Novagate as the premier partner for digital transformation.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, including resource allocation, project profitability, and the timeline optimization of our product offerings (AI Prototyping, Web-scraping solutions, and LLM fine-tuning).
- Team & Culture Leadership: Foster an innovative, high-trust, and performance-driven environment. Attract, retain, and mentor top-tier engineering, product, and consulting talent.
- Financial Management: Own the P&L. Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and resource utilization rates to ensure healthy profit margins and sustainable financial health.
- Governance & Compliance: Partner with the board to report on company performance, OKRs, and financial metrics, ensuring absolute data compliance and security standard adherence (e.g., GDPR, AI Act frameworks).
- Proven Executive Leadership: 8+ years of leadership experience (MD, VP, Partner, or Country Manager level) within a professional services context—ideally a Tech Consultancy, AI Service Provider, or Digital Transformation agency.
- Domain Literacy: While you do not need to write code, you must possess a strong, intuitive understanding of modern AI capabilities (LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Agentic Workflows, Cloud Data Architecture) to confidently advise C-suite clients.
- Commercial Track Record: Demonstrated success in selling and delivering high-value technical consulting projects and scaling B2B client portfolios from pipeline to long-term account management.
- Operational Mastery: Expert knowledge of managing professional services KPIs (e.g., utilization rates, project margins, billable hours, project scope creep mitigation).
- Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a highly relevant multidisciplinary field (or equivalent practical experience).
