Toolroom QA Inspector (CMM)
Your Job
As a QA Inspector, Toolroom, you will be responsible for ensuring tooling quality and dimensional accuracy before release to internal customers. You will conduct 100% dimensional inspection, operate advanced measurement systems, and maintain accurate inspection and inventory records while supporting Toolroom operations.
Our Team
You will be part of the Toolroom Quality team, working closely with Toolmakers, Supervisors, Production, NPI, and external tooling vendors to ensure tooling meets Molex quality standards, delivery timelines, and customer requirements.
What You Will Do- Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings to perform 100% dimensional inspection of tooling parts
- Verify, measure, and record inspection data clearly in inspection checklists
- Operate precision measurement equipment, including:
- Mitutoyo QM-Data 200
- Mitutoyo Linear Height (LH‑600)
- Mitutoyo CMM Crysta C series and above
- Support inspection activities for new tooling, repair tooling, and urgent Toolroom requests
- Collect tooling from the warehouse and perform Goods Receipt (GR) transactions in Coupa
- Maintain accountability for the tooling parts storage and inventory management system
- Ensure inspection equipment is properly handled and maintained in accordance with quality procedures
- Practice good housekeeping and comply with workplace safety requirements
- Support continuous improvement activities related to tooling quality and inspection processes
- Other duties as assigned by the Management.
- NTC 2 or equivalent technical qualification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Toolroom inspection or quality inspection environment
- Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience performing 100% dimensional verification and data recording
- Hands‑on experience using measurement and inspection equipment, including: Micrometer, Vernier caliper, Dial indicator, Digital height gauge, Block gauge, Hardness tester
- Experience using Toolmaker scope (MF series)
- Hands‑on experience with CMM, Linear Height Master, and Surface Tester
- Proven experience using Mitutoyo systems (QM‑Data, Linear Height, CMM Crysta series)
- Experience handling tooling logistics, including warehouse collection and Coupa GR transactions
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and accountable for tooling inventory control and traceability
- GD&T certification
- 2–3 years of experience in Toolroom inspection
- Advanced hands-on experience with Mitutoyo CMM systems
- Exposure to ISO or Quality Management Systems
