Job Summary
The Senior Manager / Manager, Digital Communications reports to the Assistant Director, Marketing Communications, and leads MENDAKI’s digital communications function.
The role is responsible for managing MENDAKI’s digital media assets and platforms, driving digital content strategy, and strengthening audience engagement through data‑driven and platform‑appropriate approaches. The jobholder oversees digital content planning, platform performance and optimisation, ensuring MENDAKI maintains a strong, relevant and credible digital presence that supports organisational objectives and programme priorities.
Key Responsibility Areas
Digital Strategy & Platform Management- Lead the development and execution of MENDAKI’s digital communications strategy across owned digital platforms.
- Oversee MENDAKI’s digital media assets, including websites and social media platforms, ensuring relevance, consistency and performance.
- Define content strategies and publishing frameworks tailored to platform strengths and audience behaviour.
- Ensure digital activities align with organisational priorities and complement broader communications and marketing efforts.
- Oversee the planning, creation and delivery of digital content across platforms, ensuring clarity, consistency and strong storytelling.
- Guide content teams on tone, messaging and visual direction to maintain MENDAKI’s digital voice and identity.
- Monitor audience engagement and sentiment, and adapt content strategies to enhance reach and interaction.
- Introduce new digital content formats and approaches to keep engagement fresh and relevant.
- Track and analyse digital performance metrics including reach, engagement, growth and campaign effectiveness.
- Use data and insights to optimise content strategies, posting approaches and platform performance.
- Prepare regular digital performance reports and recommendations for the Assistant Director, Marketing Communications.
- Support continuous improvement by testing, refining and scaling effective digital practices.
- Support organisation‑wide and programme‑specific campaigns by providing digital strategy, amplification and execution support.
- Work closely with Corporate Marketing and Strategic Communications teams to ensure digital efforts are aligned with publicity, campaigns and narratives.
- Coordinate with external vendors or partners for digital production, advertising or specialised campaigns, where required.
- Supervise and guide Senior Executive Officers and Executive Officers within Digital Communications.
- Provide coaching, quality control and performance feedback to ensure high standards of digital execution.
- Manage internal stakeholders’ expectations and requests relating to digital content and platforms.
- Support the Assistant Director, Marketing Communications, in workforce planning and capability development.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in digital communications, digital media management or content strategy.
- A recognised degree in Communications, Marketing, Media or a related discipline.
- Strong command of written and spoken English, with ability to adapt messaging for different digital audiences and platforms.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms, websites or digital media channels at an organisational level.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using digital metrics and insights to guide decision‑making.
- Good organisational and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple content streams and timelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with digital tools, analytics platforms and content management systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Malay/Muslim community issues and the social service context is an advantage.
