Assistant Vice President, Cybersecurity & IT (Govt-Linked Org)
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking Assistant Vice President (AVP), Cybersecurity to strengthen the enterprise security posture across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments. This role is earmarked as the successor to the Head of Cybersecurity, offering strong leadership exposure and strategic oversight opportunities.
You will lead a team of 2 Managers and 8 Executives, driving both preventive and active cybersecurity programs — with a key focus on cloud security (Azure), penetration testing, threat management, and compliance governance.
Key Responsibilities- Security Leadership & Governance
- Oversee enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy, risk posture, and operational frameworks.
- Mentor and develop a team of cybersecurity professionals to ensure high performance and technical excellence.
- Serve as deputy to the Head of Cybersecurity, representing the department in senior management or audit discussions when required.
- Threat Management & Penetration Testing
- Lead and oversee preventive, detection, and active penetration testing initiatives across infrastructure, applications, and networks.
- Establish and maintain a continuous vulnerability assessment framework and ensure timely remediation.
- Collaborate with SOC teams for incident analysis and threat hunting.
- Cloud Security (Azure Focus)
- Define and implement security best practices for Azure cloud environments.
- Drive cloud-native security controls, identity management, and monitoring.
- Partner with infrastructure and DevOps teams to secure deployments and manage configurations.
- Compliance & Risk
- Ensure adherence to relevant frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PDPA, MAS TRM, etc.).
- Support internal and external audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Develop incident response playbooks and ensure readiness across teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- At least 10 years of cybersecurity experience, including team leadership in enterprise or critical infrastructure settings.
- Proven hands-on expertise in Azure Cloud Security, penetration testing, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, or Azure Security Engineer Associate are advantageous.
- Strategic mindset with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
