Job Description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking to recruit a Research Engineer to participate in an innovative research project focused on developing an application solution for robotics integrated with Building Information Modelling (BIM).

This project aims to create a software solution capable of controlling robotic automation using BIM data inputs, specifically for the inspection and assembly of fit-out elements in Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing the software architecture, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, leading a group of interns, and applying advanced robotics techniques to support the project objectives.

Renewal of contracts is dependent upon availability of projects and performance.

Qualifications

Possess at least a bachelor and or master's in civil engineering, or related field from a reputable university.
Evidence of strong publication record in top academic journals.
Proficiency in programming languages, particularly in Python or Matlab for automation and data analysis tasks.
Civil Engineering/Built Environment related experience, practices and workflows will be an added bonus.
Strong research experience, specifically in past research projects related to robotics or BIM is required.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Open to fixed term contract.
