about the job
  • Credit Assessment & Adjudication: Conduct thorough, independent analysis of complex credit proposals for corporate and institutional clients. You will structure, write, and present insightful credit recommendations to senior risk executives and credit committees.
  • Transaction Advisory: Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to the Front Office on structuring credit facilities that align with the bank's risk framework and prevailing market conditions.
  • Portfolio Management: Proactively manage the existing credit portfolio by partnering with the business unit to ensure submission of periodic reviews by stipulated deadlines, identifying potential risks.
  • Due Diligence: Engage directly in client due diligence, which may include participating in site visits and management meetings alongside the commercial team to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business and its risks.
  • Risk Framework & Policy: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the risk management framework. This includes reviewing, updating, and developing local risk policies, procedures, and workflows related to credit, market, and operational risk.
  • Operational & Ad-Hoc Risk:
  • Manage and assess non-standard or urgent credit requests and limit excesses, ensuring prompt escalation and reporting.
  • Evaluate new product proposals, providing comprehensive risk assessments covering credit, market, and operational exposures.
  • Support the Head of Risk with various operational risk management duties, including periodic reporting and special projects.
  • Reporting & Collaboration:
  • Generate and present regular and ad-hoc risk management reports for local and group-level stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with middle and back-office teams to ensure all approved credit terms are accurately implemented and monitored.
  • Provide essential backup support for colleagues within the risk team to ensure business continuity.

skills and experience
  • Degree holder in Accounting, Business, Banking & Finance and Economics
  • 10-15 years of experience in corporate banking credit analysis and/or credit review
  • Knowledge in (structured) trade finance and corporate loans
