About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Manager / Manager, Legal Department (ACO) to join our Legal Department in west Central Region if Singapore. This is a 2 year contract position offering a unique opportunity to take on a strategic legal management role with regional scope and responsibility.You will provide essential legal support and guidance to our operations across the region, working closely with senior management and stakeholders to navigate complex legal matters and ensure the organization operates within all applicable legal frameworks.
What you'll be doing- Providing comprehensive legal advice and support to regional business units on commercial, corporate and regulatory matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and legal agreements for regional transactions and operational activities
- Managing legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions and ensuring adherence to local regulatory requirements
- Supervising and mentoring junior legal staff and paralegals within the department
- Overseeing legal documentation, filing systems and knowledge management processes
- Supporting corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and restructuring activities
- Liaising with external legal counsel and managing external legal matters as needed
- Attending to employment law matters, including contracts, policies and disputes
- Assisting with intellectual property protection and related legal requirements
- Preparing legal reports and analyses for senior management and board consideration
- Degree in relevant qualification in law or legal studies
- 5+ years of experience in legal practice or in-house legal roles, preferably with regional exposure
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, corporate law and contract management
- Experience in managing legal teams or supervising junior staff
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly
- Proficiency in legal research, document drafting and case management
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements across Asian jurisdictions (preferred)
- Professional demeanour with strong ethical standards and integrity
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia (spoken and written) is required to support stakeholders in Indonesia
