Your Job
As a Manager Plating Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing reel-to-reel plating and electroplating processes by leveraging hands-on expertise and technical acumen. Your focus will be on driving process improvements, enhancing productivity and quality, minimizing waste, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.You will lead and mentor the Plating Engineering team, fostering innovation and operational excellence to support organizational objectives. Additionally, you will manage cost (gold savings) and productivity while ensuring compliance with government regulations for the use of chemicals, hazardous materials, precious metal recovery, and discharge.
Our Team
You will be working within the Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division (DSS) and reporting to the Vice Plant Manager, Operations. This role involves close collaboration with all internal departments and external contacts, including suppliers, vendors, customers, and joint ventures.You will lead a team of Plating Engineers, Supervisors, and Technicians dedicated to achieving operational excellence.

- Focus on driving process improvements, enhancing productivity and quality, minimizing waste, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Lead and mentor the Plating Engineering team, fostering innovation and operational excellence to support organizational objectives.
- Manage cost (gold savings) and productivity with Quality standards Maintain control based on government compliance for use of chemicals, Hazardous materials, precious metal recovery and discharge
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the plating processes and ensure production meets quality, efficiency, and safety standards
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of electroplating processes, including reel-to-reel plating and materials.
- Develop and evaluate new tooling technologies to improve plating efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to address plating process issues and ensure high-quality output.
- Drive continual process improvements to enhance productivity, capacity, and yield.
- Knowledge of Principle Based Management, or similar methodologies to drive process improvements.
Operational Management:
- Supervise the Plating Engineering team in executing production and process plans.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and governmental regulations.
- Organize and minimize scrap rates while improving yield and overall operational effectiveness.
Leadership and Development:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Plating Engineers, Supervisors and Technicians.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to align goals and strategies.
- Address and manage performance challenges to maintain a high-performing workforce.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in reel-to-reel plating and electroplating processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with plating tooling design, evaluation and implementation.
- Expertise in implementing process innovations and cost-reduction activities.
- Strong interpersonal management skills and people oriented.
- Familiarity with environmental and safety compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives related to plating processes.
