Engineering Manager - Geylang

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to build highly scalable applications that can be used by millions of users across APAC. You will work on one of our growing arrays of services as we diversify and expand beyond food delivery. This role is based in Singapore.
What's on the menu:
- Defining the strategic direction of your team and contributing to the technical strategy for the entire platform.
- Guiding and coaching an exceptional team of engineers, mentoring them in technical and non-technical aspects, and leading them to build stable, scalable, and reliable features and services.
- Helping them to shape their individual careers and growing the team to become more self-organized, more agile and more autonomous.
- Establishing and growing the right Engineering Practices with your team (e.g. TDD, CI/CD, Agile Methodologies, etc.) in order to improve the engagement of your team, the speed of delivery and the quality of the features and services you own.
- Jointly own product delivery along with your product peer, working closely with technical and business stakeholders, creating roadmaps, alignment, and cost management.
- Scaling different processes of the organization such as engineering hiring and onboarding.
What you can bring to the table:
- At least 8 years of experience in software development
- Experienced managing a team of engineers in an agile environment (3+ years of people management experience with a minimum of 4 direct reports).
- People management - communicating effectively, empowering people, showing empathy.
- Engineering excellence - a proven track record of substantially impacting the development of complex non-trivial systems.
- Product focus - ability to internalise a product vision and motivate a team to work towards product goals.
- Execution - getting things done mentality. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. High prioritisation skills.
- Multiple years of experience in Golang/iOS/Android/React, including some years of hands-on technical leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent education or practical experience.
- Very good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
