Senior / Occupational Therapist (Full Time / Locum)
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior / Occupational Therapist to provide specialized occupational therapy services and support the development of clinical excellence within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse patient populations, contribute to service improvement initiatives, mentor junior therapists, and play an active role in clinical education and research.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and independently develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide specialized occupational therapy interventions to patients with varying rehabilitation needs.
- Collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, professional standards, and service quality requirements.
- Support the monitoring of departmental performance indicators, service quality, productivity, and operational outcomes.
- Assist in reviewing and updating clinical protocols and standard operating procedures based on evidence-based practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and service enhancement projects.
- Support inventory management, equipment planning, budgeting, and resource utilization.
- Contribute to the development and promotion of new therapy services.
- Mentor, supervise, and support the professional development of junior occupational therapists and therapy assistants.
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
- Support the planning and delivery of clinical education programmes for students and staff.
- Participate in research, audits, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Contribute to in-service training, workshops, seminars, and community education programmes.
- Recognized Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant occupational therapy experience.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical specialty will be advantageous.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching, and supervisory skills.
- Service-oriented with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general IT systems.

- Geriatrics
- Neurology
- Orthopaedics (including Hand Therapy)
- Palliative Care
