Senior/ Research Assistant
SINGAPORE UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN Pasir Ris
We are looking for a motivated Research Assistant (RA) to join the SUTD Wireless Innovation Centre (SWIC). The position focuses on research in semantic communication and collaborative perception, particularly at the intersection of wireless communications and computer vision, with applications in next-generation intelligent systems (e.g. V2X, autonomous systems, and distributed AI).
The RA will support ongoing research projects by contributing to system implementation, experimentation, and analysis, while gaining hands-on experience in interdisciplinary research across communication, perception, and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in research on semantic communication, including semantic representation, transmission, and reconstruction
- Support the design and implementation of simulation platforms integrating communication and perception pipelines
- Conduct experiments, analyze results, and assist in preparing research outputs (e.g., reports, papers)
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to project development
Requirements
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or currently pursuing) in computer vision, communications and networking, computer science, operations research, or related fields
- Background in one or more of the following areas: Semantic communication / information theory Computer vision / 3D perception Machine learning / generative models Wireless communications / networking
- Programming experience (e.g., Python, PyTorch)
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Proficient in oral and written English
