Boys’ Town Fostering Services is looking for a Marketing Assistant who is eager to use their creativity and communication skills to champion the cause of fostering.

Job Purposes

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, confident, and a natural communicator. This role involves outreach and publicity, so being a “people person” is essential.

As a Marketing Assistant, you will play a vital role in raising public awareness about fostering and supporting the recruitment and assessment of foster parents. Your work will directly contribute to giving children a safe, nurturing home and a brighter future.

Job Responsibilities

Marketing & Outreach
  • Be the first point of contact for public enquiries about the Fostering Scheme and Boys’ Town’s services.
  • Manage and grow our social media presence through thoughtful content planning, scheduling, and community engagement.
  • Design and produce impactful marketing materials that tell the story of fostering and inspire action.
  • Support the planning and execution of outreach events that connect with potential foster parents.
  • Track and report on marketing performance to help us grow our reach and impact.
Administrative Support
  • Assist in processing foster parent applications and coordinating assessment documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all assessment-related records.
  • Monitor marketing-related expenses and support budget tracking.
Organisational
  • Contribute to Boys’ Town’s fundraising events and initiatives.
  • Work closely with colleagues across departments to support our shared mission.
  • Take on additional duties as needed to support the wellbeing of our clients and the smooth running of our services.
Competencies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a flair for creating engaging content.
  • Proficiency in social media management and design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence in handling documentation and preparing reports.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative spirit and a heart for service.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and families in need.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
  • Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Candidates without experience are welcome to apply – we value passion and purpose.
  • Prior experience in marketing, communications, or admin support is a plus, especially in the social service sector.
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends for outreach events
