Integration Lead Architect
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Integration Lead / Architect to own both the delivery and architecture of enterprise integration across a transformation programme.
The role is accountable for ensuring integration workstreams are governed, prioritised, architecturally sound, and delivered in line with programme timelines, business priorities, and enterprise standards.
The candidate must bring strong hands-on and architectural experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, reusable integration patterns, canonical data models, and enterprise integration governance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Integration COE & Governance- Define and operate the integration Centre of Excellence (COE) operating model and intake process.
- Set and enforce API standards, non-functional requirements, naming conventions, design patterns, and integration best practices.
- Maintain the enterprise integration catalogue as the single source of truth.
- Lead stage-gate design reviews from intake through to deployment.
- Own the integration roadmap, delivery plan, and capacity plan across all workstreams.
- Manage escalations, blockers, risks, and cross-programme dependencies.
- Support estimation, planning, delivery governance, and release readiness for integration workstreams.
- Design scalable, reusable, and governed MuleSoft APIs and integrations.
- Review MuleSoft solution designs, RAML/API specifications, data mappings, security models, and deployment approaches.
- Ensure integration architecture aligns with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
- Work with business, application, data, security, infrastructure, and delivery teams to align integration outcomes.
- Act as the primary integration point of contact for programme leadership and cross-functional teams.
- MuleSoft Integration Architecture
Strong experience designing enterprise integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including:
- API-led connectivity with reusable, governed APIs.
- Designing and reviewing System APIs, Process APIs, and Experience APIs.
- MuleSoft deployment patterns, platform configuration, and runtime management.
- Canonical data modelling and reusable integration asset development.
- Enterprise Integration Governance & Standards
Ability to define and enforce:
- API standards, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements (NFRs).
- Design governance frameworks and reusable asset strategies.
- Integration catalogue management and version control disciplines.
- Platform, Network & Security Architecture Alignment
Proven ability to work with network, security, cloud, and infrastructure architects to ensure:
- MuleSoft platform is correctly set up, secure, and scalable.
- Integration solutions are aligned with enterprise security and compliance standards.
- Network topology, firewall rules, and connectivity patterns are properly designed.

- Enterprise Architecture Experience
- Experience with TOGAF or equivalent architecture frameworks.
- Ability to align integration architecture with broader enterprise architecture principles.
- Familiarity with architecture review boards (ARBs) and governance processes.
- DevOps & Operational Support Knowledge
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft integrations.
- Monitoring, logging, and alerting patterns for integration platforms.
- Release management and supportability design for enterprise integrations.
